Repurpose unused or underused space to create safe, local places for people to play for free. Offer a mix of free unstructured and structured play opportunities. Success in sports only comes from a determined work ethic and a resilience to bounce back from failures, big and small. As a “universal language,” sports also breaks down barriers and enables social interactions in both casual and pressure-packed environments.
To deploy these tools, North Carolina requires investment in the people and the environments that allow for both structured and unstructured, competitive play. Our children must have access to safe places with mentors surrounding them where they can learn to fail and succeed over and over again.

The North Carolina Courage are a Division I professional women’s soccer team that play in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). North Carolina FC is an American professional soccer team. The team plays in USL League One, the third tier of the American league system.
There are more than 200 parks in Raleigh featuring classes and programs, art centers, athletic facilities, community centers, lakes, nature preserves, dog parks, playgrounds, swimming pools, greenway trails, historic sites, open spaces, and more!
Our goal is to raise $2.5M to build 25 fields. We will up-fit underutilized spaces in local neighborhoods and partner with parks departments, schools and other non-profits to activate these spaces. They will be a mix of small, urban pitches and larger turf fields. We are actively looking for locations and private/corporate donors who are interested in learning more about this project.
